CONSORTIUM—The Spanish industry awarded 17 contracts on South Africa soil

The Spanish industry has awarded to date 17 contracts on South African soil, with an investment of over 1.16 billion euros, signing contracts for services and equipment sales in an amount in excess of 1.97 billion euros. 1000 MW of 2459 MW awarded to date in various technologies will be promoted or built by Spanish companies.

In addition, Spanish companies have reached agreements with both Spanish companies awarding contracts and other foreign promoters to execute the construction of wind farms, and photovoltaic and thermosolar fields that have been awarded by a higher amount to 1.97 billion euros. This, in the framework of the projects to be implemented in two years, puts this program and this market as one of the greatest industrial successes in the history of Spanish foreign trade, ensuring to companies an anually turnover close to 1 billion euros over the next three years. This achievement joins the one reached by the railway industry with the AVE Medina-Mecca, which contract worthed 6.7 billion euros for construction and operation over the next 15 years.
