ELECNOR- Elecnor wins 80.5 MW wind power orders in Brazil

Spanish power company Elecnor has been awarded contracts to build four wind farms with a combined capacity of 80.5 MW in Brazil.

Elecnor won the contracts in a renewable energy auction organised by the Brazilian government and it will be in charge of the construction of the 18.4 MW Granja Vargas 2, 16.1 MW Granja Vargas 3, 29.9 MW Cabo Verde 4 and 16.1 MW Cabo Verde 5 wind farms, the Spanish company said in a statement yesterday.

The wind farms will be located in the Brazilian state of Rio Grande do Sul and their construction will be completed in a period of three years.

After the launch of the facilities, Elecnor will operate a total wind power capacity of 564 MW in Brazil.

Elecnor won the orders through its renewable energy subsidiary Enerfin, which was the only Spanish company participant in the auction.
